How this site is built

Deliberately small: one SvelteKit application, markdown files on disk, and no third-party scripts.

Stack

• Content. One markdown file per post, with a four-line header: title, date, author and tags. The filesystem is the CMS.
• Application. SvelteKit 3 with Svelte 5 runes and TypeScript, built for Node and served by a supervised process.
• Rendering. markdown-it with raw HTML disabled, Shiki for syntax highlighting, and a strict Content-Security-Policy.
• Front end. Hand-written CSS custom properties, reusable Svelte components and a small amount of client JavaScript for the theme, copy buttons and image viewer.
• Type. IBM Plex Sans, Serif and Mono, self-hosted as subset woff2 files under the SIL Open Font License.

Design

The palette, gradient and slash mark come from the RODMENA brand kit, version 1.0. The reading column is capped at roughly 66 characters, which is where long-form text stops being tiring.

Privacy

No analytics, no third-party scripts and no cookies for readers. The only cookie is the signed session for the single administrator.
